WIRE FABRIC (Hardware)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in preference to Federal Specification
RR-W-370B
This commercial item description covers galvanized, carbon steel wire fabric suitable for barriers, enclosures, material screens and other common hardware applications.
Salient characteristics: Unless otherwise specified, the wire fabric design, dimensions, finish and testing shall be in accordance with ASTM A749. In the event that a conflict arises between this commercial item description and standards referenced herein, this commercial item description shall govern.
Mesh size. The wire fabric shall be supplied in sizes I, II, III, and IV as specified in Table I.

1/ Dimensional tolerances shall be in accordance with section 6 of ASTM A740 except weight after galvanizing shall be + 10%.
Mesh type. The mesh design shall be plain weaved or welded square mesh as specified.
Crimp type. The wire fabric shall be double crimped at the mesh intersections to lock the wires into place.
Length. The minimum length of the wire fabric roll shall be 100 feet.
Width. The wire fabric shall be supplied in widths of 24, 30, 36, and 48 inches as specified.
